Tell us about your dance journey

Just to keep it simple, it has been amazing but super hard, i start dancing back in Cuba , when i finish school in 2010 i joined the Cuban Ballet of Camaguey as a Pricipal dancer untill 2012 , then i decided to keep growing as a dancer and follow my dreams to become one of the best dancers in the world, on 2013 i left Cuba to go to Italy because of a friend that believed  in me and invited me there so i could start my international carrier , it wasn't easy because as Cuban is really hard for visas and paperwork , meaning  that i was in Italy after 3 month illegal , i couldn't get any work and i couldn't  come back to Cuba , then thanks to Alberto Catellani that was the person that helped me getting out of Cuba i got this audition at one of the most famous TV show in Italy call Amici , where it was a great experience for me, also because of my visa that couldn’t be finish i had to leave the program right before the final . Then things started to go well , i had a guesting opportunity with the West Australian Ballet for 2 months and in the mid time i was signing a contract with the Dutch National Ballet (Het National) one of the best companies. I danced there for about 3/2 years where it was amazing in the beginning but after i was getting depressed because of the weather and not sun at all , so i decided to leave and go to Australia again for 1 year i said , and is been 7 years already, have dance with the West Australian Ballet since then .

Tell us about your experience at the Dutch National Ballet

My time at the Dutch National ballet was amazing i had the chance to do principal roles just joined the company, also to understand what it meant to be a part of one of the best companies in the world, but as i mentioned before i couldn’t handle the weather

Share with us your feelings when you got promoted as a Principal at the West Australian Ballet

Well i where so excited but at the same time it was something i was looking for a long time , but now i understand that the time i expected looking forward to it , was a time that i worked harder and harder to make it happen.

Tell us about a choreography that will always stay in your heart and why.

Don Quijote by Lucette Aldous, because i love the style of it but also because i had the opportunity of rehearsal that with her in person before she sadly passed away , so is a special version of Don quijote that will always stay in my heart.

How do you keep in shape your body, and how is it important for you?

I love the gym and also eating healthy, with time i stop drinking alcohol and smoking, I wish i did it a long time ago because is a big change in my body. I love swimming and I'm  always active , surfing, doing Yoga and being with my Son that is a full time cardio

Which advice would you give to the young dancers?

I would say that even tho the ballet world is changing a lot never forget why you started, always compete with yourself never with others and to never let anyone tell you  "You Can’t do it "

What are you doing when you are not working?

I love to be at home and with my family, enjoy and making quality time with them , and also something i been doing lately is getting away from everything like phone , media , people, everything even if is for few hours or 1 min .
