Participants work closely with the artists through improvisation, physical tasks, and rehearsal to develop new material that will premiere during the MovementFest LA Showcase.Performance Lab 002 led by Dolly Sfeir.Participants train and rehearse in a two-week creation process that challenges habitual patterns of moving and being. This work is rooted in a movement language that is grounded, specific, richly detailed, and carries a distinctly Middle Eastern aesthetic. WORKSHOP WITH CHIARA FRIGO
𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗔𝗥𝗔 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗢
Ballroom with Chiara Frigo in the Tersicore Hall of the Velletri Town Hall
𝗣𝗮𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗶 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 is launching a call open to all for free participation in the workshop, with inclusion in Chiara Frigo's show Ballroom.
Ballroom is a participatory show created by Chiara Frigo, choreographer and performer, and co-founder of Associazione Culturale Zebra | chiarafrigo.com.
Ballroom is a community experience where people of different generations come together through dance. The performance recreates the atmosphere of ballrooms, nodding to the world of dance halls and Ettore Scola's famous film "Le Bal," with pop references to speed dating. The ballroom becomes a repository of memories: rows of chairs, loves, and passions, experienced or simply touched upon. The performance involves the audience: seated next to the performers, spectators are asked to form dance couples, with constantly changing partners. In an atmosphere charged with intimacy, participants take a journey through their memories thanks to the empathy created with the performers.
Through this call, it will be possible to participate firsthand in the preparation and staging of the performance, under the guidance of Chiara Frigo, on the occasion of the project's tenth anniversary. No prior technical training is required to participate, just a willingness to get involved and enjoy an engaging and shared artistic experience.
Participation is free. Space is limited (maximum 16). The group will be involved on October 26th in Velletri (RM) at the Sala Tersicore of the Town Hall. Attendance at all meetings is required, according to the schedule below.

WORKSHOP WITH DAVIDE BONETTI / acrodance practice
WORKSHOP with DAVIDE BONETTI - ACRODANCE PRACTICE
The Movement Re|Hubs series is a curated program designed to inspire movers, dancers and practitioners to exchange practices, experiment and learn from national and internationals professionals in the field willing to share and connect through their practice.
La Cap, provides participants the opportunity both to reside on-site and have access to the studio space, allowing these gatherings to foster cross-disciplinary exchange and nurture practices in dialogue and co-habitation with national and international mentors.
ACRODANCE PRACTICE
A fusion of acrobatics and dance: in acrodance, jumps, balances, and acrobatic movements merge with the fluidity of contemporary dance, creating dynamic, elegant, and surprising choreography, all grounded on the floor.
Over the course of the two-day, the workshop will focus on specific warm-up exercises, acrobatic technique applied to dance, and moments of movement research and improvisation. The aim is to develop strength, fluidity, and awareness of floor-based movement, integrating acrobatics and dance in an organic way.
The workshop is open to all levels, particularly for those who practice contemporary dance, have a background in acrobatics, or wish to explore a dynamic, grounded, and fluid movement quality.
Recommended clothing: long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and socks for comfort and protection. The workshop is intended for dancers and acrobats.
Davide Bonetti is a professional acrodancer. At 18, he entered the FLIC contemporary circus school in Turin as an acrobat, where he specialized in handstands and vertical work. At 22, he continued his training at CNAC (Centre National des Arts du Cirque) in France, where he embraced a more fluid and organic approach to acrobatics—what we now call acrodance. Between 2019 and 2021, he toured in France and Belgium as a performer, and since 2019 he has been teaching acrodance workshops in Italy and across Europe.

BEHIND THE WOW! JONAS FREY
The Sharing open labs are a series of workshops and collective practices led by the resident artists at La Cap. Open and donation based, these labs are designed to foster exchange between artists, participants, and the local community — creating space for experimentation, dialogue, and mutual learning..
La Cap, provides participants the opportunity both to reside on-site and have access to the studio space, allowing these gatherings to foster cross-disciplinary exchange and nurture practices in dialogue and co-habitation with the residents.
In Behind the WOW!, we dig into the deeper layers of movement by exploring foundational concepts from Breaking and Popping — not just as techniques, but as starting points for choreographic thinking. This workshop invites participants to look beyond form and virtuosity to ask:
– How can movement carry meaning?
– What are the compositional potentials within street styles?
– How can we transition from a battle or community context to performance work without losing authenticity?
Drawing from his own artistic practice — rooted between street and club styles and contemporary choreography — Jonas Frey will share tools for movement deconstruction, translation, and motif development, helping dancers expand their vocabulary while deepening their expressive and conceptual range. Whether you’re a mover grounded in freestyle traditions or looking to integrate urban influences into your choreographic process, Behind the WOW! offers a space to question, play, and create.
Jonas Frey is a Germany-based choreographer, dancer, and dance educator with roots in Hip Hop and breaking. After studying at ArtEZ School of Dance and completing an MA in Choreography at Codarts/Fontys, he creates works at the intersection of club- and streetdance and contemporary choreography. His practice is shaped by co-creation, encouraging all collaborators to become co-authors in the process. Jonas’ works are presented in his home base of Mannheim as well as nationally and internationally. Together with Julie Pécard, he directs the Junior Company at EinTanzHaus and co-directs Mpower Urban, a platform for choreographic development in club- and streetstyles. From 2025–26 he will be a resident artist at Theater Freiburg within the Reseau Grand Luxe. Jonas Frey will be author in residence at La Cap from September 14 to September 27 2025, in order to work on his solo “Copieweg”.
