INTO THE WAVES OF KRAKEN
Into the Waves of the Kraken: A five-Day Choreographic Immersion”, with Cie Julie Magneville
After the success of the first edition, we have decided to give the opportunity for new dancers to join our creative process.
This intensive 5-day workshop, inspired by Julie Magneville ‘s new creation Kraken, invites you to a deep physical and sensory exploration where dance meets physical theater.
At the heart of this immersion, we will explore the skin as a receptive organ, a living boundary between oneself and others. By developing an increased awareness of the skin and its interactions with the environment, we aim to awaken a refined sensory experience that amplifies bodily expression.

We will focus on fluid, organic states of the body, inspired by the power and mystery of the Kraken, to develop gestures that embody both strength and vulnerability.
Who is it for?
This workshop is open to dancers and performers, whether professional or advanced, who are eager to explore an integrative approach to movement and sensory awareness.

Ultima Vez Repertory Workshop by Eduadro Torroja
The workshop will focus on the energetic and physical repertory vocabulary from the three first pieces of Ultima Vez: “What the Body Does Not Remember”, “Les Porteuses de mauvaises nouvelles” and “The weight of a hand”. It is about movement “as a theatrical act”.
Participants will follow the creation process going from the origins of the material, the working transitions until the final performed results. This vocabulary will be also the starting point to a guided development of the participants’ own choreographic work. Creating their compositions through the form, the emotion, the strong theatrical atmosphere and the intention of the proposed material.
We will explore and confront this material through improvisations, floorwork, contactand partner work, group forms and objects’ manipulation. To arrive to this vocabulary participants will work with a wide range of concepts such as: tension, instinct, chaos, sensuality, risk, trust, protection, dependency, power, strategies, neutrality, physical extremes. Please foresee note book and sneakers.
EDUARDO TORROJA born in Madrid, Spain, where he studied dance and theatre. In 1986 moved to Brussels to collaborate with Wim Vandekeybus as a choreography assistant, trainer and performer for the very first Ultima Vez productions “What The Body Does Not Remember”(1987), “Les Porteuses de Mauvaises Nouvelles”(1989), “The Weight of a Hand”(1990), “Blush”(2002) and “Sonnic Boom”(2003) and the film “Roseland”(1991). During the nineties, he worked with Rosas – Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker in “Erts” and “Mozart -Concertaria’s: Un Moto di Gioia”. And also with Needcompany – Jan Lauwers – Grace Ellen Barkey in “Rood-Red- Rouge”, “Morning Song”, “The Miraculous Mandarin”, “Caligula” and “King Lear”.

He gained international respect for his unique style. For years, he competed in and judged competitions world wide. To this day, he continues to perform and teach workshops all around the globe.
By 2007 his repertoire evolved to include performing in contemporary dance productions. It was inevitable, with his endless hours of training, that he would transform his movement skills from a childhood dream into his life’s work and passion.
Rubberlegz was recently awarded ‘Best Dancer 2019’ by Danza&Danza Magazine for his ‘original language’ that breaks down barriers between dance genres.
He has worked with William Forsythe, National Opera of Paris, USC, CalArts, LACMA, Malou Airaudo, MuDA, Nike RT, Burberry, GAP, Arashi, Puma, Replay, Sadlers Wells, Flying Steps, Red Bull, Muscle Milk, Moderat, Sony, Sonos, Fiat, WAD MAG, Tumi, HP, Pandora, Pfadfinderei, PACT Zoll Verein, ArtFactory International, CNDC Angers, LMU, Bodytraffic, Jacob Jonas The Company, Renegade Theatre Herne, Malou Airaudo, Andy Hines, Jessica Young, Justin Daashur Hopkins, Elliott Sellers, OURO Collective, Modus Operandi, Whim W’Him and more.

He is a multi-disciplined tour de force and his talents are not limited to dance. While pursuing his dance passion, he received his diploma in 3D-Visualization and Animation. He worked for several years with professional design agencies as a visual artist before moving to Berlin and working as a freelance artist in both design and dance.
In Los Angeles, RubberLegz is busy focusing on his many projects and utilizing his photography, design and dance skills
