About the project
Gate8 Workshop Young is an intensive international contemporary dance programme for young dancers aged 11 to 17. Alongside Gate8 Workshop (for dancers aged 18+), the young section creates a shared artistic environment where young dancers from different backgrounds, cultures, and training paths work together in an immersive creative atmosphere that fosters exchange, growth, and dialogue.The roleThe selected choreographer will lead a 5-day intensive creative process focused on:contemporary technique, creative research and a performance project, creation of a final work (approx. 15–20 minutes). The workshop involves approximately 7 hours of work per day with an international group of young dancers, 2h of technique and 5h of creation. Who we are looking forWe are looking for an artist who demonstrates: artistic and human sensitivity the ability to build trust, connection, and engagement within a group, an approach based on listening, empathy, and collaboration, a strong interest in contemporary research and creative processes. Experience working with young dancers (11–17) is highly valued. However, applications from choreographers without direct experience in this age group are also welcome, provided they demonstrate a strong motivation and interest in developing a practice with younger dancers. The creative process is at the core of this experience: we are looking for an artist capable of guiding young dancers through a meaningful artistic and human journey.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Are you a mover, dancer, circus artist, or interdisciplinary performer with a piece between 5 and 25 minutes long?
We are excited to invite you to apply for this year’s Tilburg in Motion Dance Festival, taking place from September 24–26, 2026, in Tilburg, the Netherlands.
This open call is specifically for the afternoon performance program, which will take place in a pop-up format. The audience will be guided through the space of LocHal, encountering a new performance in each location.
The theme of the festival this year is The urgency of movement
LocHal is a public space, which comes with its own set of challenges and opportunities. We’re looking for pieces and artists who are excited about adapting to this environment and engaging with a diverse audience. Performances will unfold in spaces that are lively, dynamic, and surrounded by the daily rhythm of library visitors.
Because of this, it’s important to ensure that the performances are suitable for a broad audience, including children.

Submit your dance film to the ZED Festival + La Danza in 1 Minuto International Screendance Competition.
The competition is divided into:
International Screendance Competition (ZED + La Danza in 1 Minuto)
This section is looking for original, diverse, and high-quality international dance films with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, produced no earlier than 2023. The final selection will be screened at the next edition of ZED Festival in July this year.
Three cash awards will be assigned, including one dedicated to Generation Z authors (born from 1997 onwards), as well as special mentions awarded by an international professional jury and a student jury from the DAMS departments of the Universities of Turin and Bologna.
VR 360° Dance Film Competition

We are seeking an Assistant to the Dance Director (m/f/d) starting with the 2026/27 season.
The dance company at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau will be under the artistic direction of Wagner Moreira (BRA/DE) starting in the 2026/27 season.
Based in Görlitz, the company currently consists of 10–12 dancers. Its work is grounded in classical technique and rooted in contemporary dance. The company sees itself as an interdisciplinary, inclusive, and mobile dance theatre ensemble.
Your responsibilities:
• Supporting the artistic director of the company in organizational and administrative matters
• Assisting with scheduling and coordination of the company’s work; creating weekly and monthly schedules in collaboration with training and rehearsal management
• Organizational production management
• Touring management in collaboration with other theatre departments
• General office management
• Acting as a communication interface between the dance office and other departments
• Contributing to production dramaturgy
• Writing and editing texts for various media, formats, and target groups
• Assisting with program booklet creation

Libera Connessione Award 2026
The Libera Connessione Award 2026 is an international videodance competition dedicated to short dance films exploring the relationship between dance and the concept of Time.
The award is part of the Monferrato DanzArte 2026 program and aims to encourage artists, dancers, choreographers, filmmakers and creatives to experiment with the language of videodance.
Participants are invited to create a short videodance work (maximum 1 minute and 30 seconds) reflecting on the theme Time, exploring its philosophical, emotional or experiential dimensions through movement and visual storytelling.
Two categories are available:

2) Application Process
- The application form must be completed and submitted by Feb 6, 2026(KST).
- The choreographic work should be submitted as an Internet link (youtube, vimeo, etc.).
- The video should contain only the choreography to be performed in the competition.
- The duration of the performance has to be between 8 and 10 minutes.
3) Additional Requirements
- The choreography must have been performed in public before. (Premieres will not be accepted).
- Competitors must be available for performances on both the rehearsal day and the competition day.
- Admission to the competition will be decided on by a pre-jury evaluation of the submitted videos.
- Pre-jury evaluation results will be announced via email in early March.

Description of opportunity:
The registrations for the eighth edition of the Rotterdam
International Duet Choreography Competition ( RIDCC ) are open.
Choreographers from around the world are warmly invited to submit
their duets. Registrations are open until March 1, 2026, and all style
are welcome.
The winner of RIDCC 2026 will receive the XL Production Award, valued
at 100,000 euros. This exceptional opportunity allows the winning
choreographer to create a new, autonomous production with Scapino
Ballet Rotterdam, including a national tour. It is a meaningful step
forward for any artist working in the international dance field.
In addition to the main award, all 16 selected participants are
eligible for one of the Partner Awards. Each partner contributes its
own opportunity, ranging from creative residencies to the development
or presentation of new work.
This year, the competition will take place on June 18, 19 and 20, 2026.

BLACK BOX ARTISTIC RESIDENCY
For the 2025/2026 theater season, Balletto di Siena is making
available to artists, choreographers, dancers, and performers several
spaces within its complex located at Piazza Maestri del Lavoro 31,
Siena, along with the Black Box, an area designated as a performance
space for public entertainment, accessible and equipped.
The call is open to all artists or artistic entities, whether
individual or collective, whether their objectives are creation,
production, research, or performance in the fields of dance, art, and
culture.
The purpose of this call is to open the doors of the available spaces,
hosting artistic personalities and facilitating their process of
reflection, planning, and realization of their art. A center
established and dedicated to the world of dance art, Black Box will
give priority, in this fifth edition of residencies, to projects
submitted that focus on the valorization of non-verbal language,
innovation and choreographic research, and to emerging artists in the
world of contemporary performance, classical ballet, or any other
form. Particular importance will be given to the artistic aptitude
demonstrated in the proposed project, as well as the quality of
previous artistic work, which can be found via videos submitted with
the new application.
Spaces will be assigned and scheduled in consultation with the
selected artists, starting from October 2025 to November 2025.
Part-time or full-time residencies are available, as well as
performances and shows can be included within Black Box's Winter Live
Performance Season. Artists using the space are required to respect
the environment and the rules for use and hygiene of the space.
How to apply:
Applications, duly completed and including a brief description of the
project and the CVs of the participating artists, must be submitted by
email to [email protected] by October 31st, 2025. A
decision, whether positive or negative, will be received within 7-10
business days of receiving the application. The residency schedule
will be established in consultation with each selected
artist/organization as soon as they are notified of their project's
acceptance. The organization reserves the right to suspend acceptance
of applications if the maximum capacity of the spaces or the venue's
events calendar are reached.
The performance will take place on Friday, November 21st at 9:00 PM;
candidates may submit an excerpt of their work lasting a minimum of 10
minutes and a maximum of 15-20 minutes continuously.

Selected works will receive a cachet ranging from €500 to €1,100 (based on the number of performers on stage) and partial support for travel expenses, compete in front of numerous Italian and international professionals (theatre and festival directors, dance networks coordinators, programmers, residency centres, critics and scholars) for several monetary prizes and the possibility of receiving touring and artist residency opportunities.

Description of opportunity:Artistic Director Raffaele Irace invites emerging talents to step into the spotlight at the internationally recognized Solocoreografico Solo Dance Festival.
In 2025, the Youth section of the festival will open its doors in two exciting locations:
- Frankfurt (Germany) at Gallus Theater – 11&12 October 2025
- Turin (Italy) at Teatro Café Müller – 29&30 November 2025
You can choose to apply for one edition or experience both!
